\n Ukrainian \u201cMriya\u201d has finished the record project by the number of flights. \u201cAntonov Avialines\u201d has delivered the bulk generators from Chile to Bolivia via 12 consecutive flights. This is the record number in the history of the commercial exploitation of this plane on the market. The plane has transported 12 generators for the thermal power plant as per the order by Hansa Meyer Global Transport GmbH & Co. The weight delivered was about 160 tons per flight. All the safety measures and flight recommendations as well as the crew training were taken care of before the flight.\n

\n Not the First Record\n

\n On May 15\n th\n , 2016, Ukrainian plane \u201cMriya\u201d has landed in the Australian city Pert. This was the first commercial flight of the Ukrainian giant to Australia. The plane has brought a generator with the weight of 130 tons, and this is the only plane in the world that can carry such big cargos.\n

\n More than 20 thousand people came to watch the landing of the biggest plane in the world, as if it was a rock star\u2019s concert! The airport had posted an announcement of the event beforehand, and because of the big number of people willing to see the plane, there were traffic jams around the airport.\n

\n Firstly, the plane went from Kyiv to Prague, where the generator was loaded on-board, then it departed to Australia with 3 technical stops in Turkmenistan, India, and Malaysia. \u201cMriya\u201d was in the airport for more than 2 days, since only the unloading took more than 12 hours using the specially developed system of cables, blocks, and several lifting cranes.\n

\n The Long Way of the \u201cMriya\u201d\n

\n The plane was projected and built on Kyiv mechanic plant under the rule of aircraft designer Victor Tolmachov. The first flight was on December, 21\n st\n , 1988.\n

\n AN-225 was created to solve the narrow circle of the unique transport tasks of that time. There was a need for the transport system for the spaceship \u201cBuran.\u201d \u201cMriya\u201d was supposed to transfer the components of \u201cBuran\u201d from the place of production to the place of launching.\n

\n In addition to that, \u201cMriya\u201d was supposed to be used as the first stage of the system of the air start for the spaceship, and this required the plane\u2019s capability to carry 250 tons. As the blocks of the rocket-carrier and \u201cBuran\u201d itself had sizes that were bigger than the cargo department of AN-225, there were special fastenings for the external loads developed.\n

\n However, an interesting thing is that even though the plane was being developed to transport the components of \u201cBuran,\u201d by the time AN-225 was built, another plane \u201cAtlant\u201d has carried out the most of those components.\n

\n So, \u201cMriya\u201d has made 14 flights with \u201cBuran\u201d with the total time 28 hours and 27 minutes.\n

\n After the collapse of the USSR, it was a hard time for \u201cMriya.\u201d The only flying plane has finished operation in 1994, and the equipment and components from it were used for the usage in other planes.\n

\n However, by the 2000\u2019s, the need for \u201cMriya\u201d became obvious, and the plane was renewed with the help of the common efforts of Ukrainian companies. Also, a few transformations were made in order for the plane to meet the standards of the planes for the civil aviation.\n

\n The Huge Opportunities\n

\n AN-225 is a turbo-reactive plane equipped with 6 aviation engines D-18T produced by the Zaporizhia\u2019s enterprise \u201cMotor Sich\u201d with the cooperation with the construction bureau \u201cProgres\u201d origination from the same city.\n

\n The plane is unique by the size of its cargo cabin having the length 43 meters, width 6.4 meters, and the height 4.4 meters. The cargo cabin of the plane is hermetic making its transporting opportunities significantly bigger. There is also a cabin for 6 crew members and 88 people accompanying the cargo.\n

\n The wingspan of \u201cMriya\u201d is 88 meters, the length is 84 meters, and the height is 18.2 meters (the height of a regular 6-story building). The weight of the empty plane is 250,000 kg. Even though the size is huge, the cruising speed of the plane is the same as the Boeing\u2019s: 850 kilometers per hour. For the \u201cMriya\u201d to take off, the length of the runway should be not less than 3 kilometers.\n

\n The Big Set of Records So Far\n

\n $\"\"$ \n

\n \u201cMriya\u201d is the weightiest plane that has ever taken off. The only plane that exceeded AN-225 by the wingspan was Hughes H-4 Hercules, but it took off only once in 1947.\n

\n AN-225 has set a lot of world records thanks to the flight weight capabilities and load carrying capacities. On March 22\n nd\n , 1989, \u201cMriya\u201d has made a flight with 156.3 tons of cargo. This event has broken 110 world aviation records at the same time, and this combo became a record itself.\n

\n In August 2004, the Ukrainian giant has made a new achievement. It carried 250 tons of special equipment from Prague to Tashkent with the technical landing in Samara as per the order by Zeromax GmbH Company.\n

\n Furthermore, on June 10\n th\n , 2010, the plane carried the lengthiest cargo in the history of the airplane transportation. It carried two blades of a windmill with each being 42.1 meters long.\n

\n Overall, \u201cMriya\u201d has achieved around 250 world records.\n

\n The name of the Ukrainian scientist Boris Paton is known because of his achievements in the field of electric welding, the development of which is applied in space, in the oceans of the world, and especially in the sphere of the medical research.\n

\n Recently, a new original technology of electric welding of soft tissues of a man and an animal has been successfully developed, which has been embodied in the modern surgery.\n

\n It has been 10 years since there has been developed a new technology of high-frequency electric welding of human soft tissues with the numerous international certificates that allow implementing of such surgical operations directly on a person.\n

\n In the early 1990's, there was invented an entirely new method of welding, i.e. a surgical way of joining the soft tissues of the human body. The very first experiments were carried out on tissues of the removed organs. Then there were experiments on animals: rabbits, white rats, and pigs. In the course of these operations, the methods of using welding technology on different organs and tissues were successfully worked out.\n

\n Compared with other methods of surgery during welding operations, the loss of blood and the time of surgical intervention are reduced. This means that the medicine for anesthesia is used in a much less quantity. In addition, there is no need for a stitched material that may create problems in the patient's body.\n

\n In 1993, the workers of the Institute of Electric Welding together with the surgeons at the Institute of Clinical and Experimental Surgery and the well-known Ukrainian \u201cOkhmatdit\u201d Hospital conducted a few experiments that confirmed the principle of the possibility of obtaining a weld joint of various soft tissues of animals by the method of bipolar coagulation.\n

\n Since 1994, in the experimental department of the Institute of Surgery and Transplantation, the systematic studies have started on promising technology that can, in case of success, make a revolution in the surgical practice.\n

\n Nowadays, up to 120 methods of various operations are being mastered, which are carried out primarily in many clinics in Ukraine as well as abroad. Moreover, these operations are held faster than usual ones, the seams are sealed and the loss of blood is reduced to the minimum.\n

\n This method is used even in ophthalmology. Nowadays, numerous successful surgeries when the eye retina is welded are held at the Odessa Filatov Institute and the Kolomyychenko Institute of Otolaryngology in Kyiv. According to official statistics, 80 thousand patients have gone through such operations.\n

\n There are people who by their sensational achievements change the course of history. One of such outstanding personalities was Yuri Voronyi, a Ukrainian surgeon who carried out the world's first kidney transplant, forever celebrating Ukraine as a country that gave the whole world a true savior of human lives.\n

\n Yuri Voronyi came to the conclusion that kidney transplants can be transmitted in the pathological state of the organism, which occurs after severe poisoning. The first transplant in the world was the kidney from the corpse. Numerous observations of Voronyi, according to which the bodies of the corpses for some time retain vital functions and remain sterile, played a role in making such an important decision.\n

\n This crucial event took place on March 31, 1933. To the hospital, where Voronyi was working at the time, there was taken an ill 26-year old girl because of the poisoning of a syllable. Despite all the medical procedures, her condition was getting worse and worse with every new day. It was decided to transplant her kidney. As the donor, there was used a corpse of a 60-year-old man who died from a fracture of the skull base. Under the local anesthesia on the right thigh of the patient, there was formed a bed for the donor's kidney.\n

\n So, on April 3, 1933, at 21:00 pm in the surgical department of the city hospital in Kherson, for the first time in the world medical practice, the clinical transplantation of the kidney was performed by a surgeon from the Ukrainian city Chernihiv Yuri Voronyi.\n

\n This evolutionary event was written in the Italian magazine \u201cVinerva Chirurgica\u201d about, where it was noted that the kidney was involved in the blood circulation and began to function independently: there appeared some rare droplets of a clear urine. Although unfortunately, the sick woman died in 48 hours, it was the beginning of the new era in the history of medicine development.\n

\n In the post-war years, Yuri Voronyi carried out four more similar operations, all of them with successful consequences.\n

\n Recalling that in those years, even the best doctors in the world had not yet had a fundamental knowledge of immunobiology and transplantation immunity. The achievements of Yuri Voronyi gave a huge and powerful impulse to the development of world Transplantology. Sometime later, in Europe, the best doctors began to transplant patients with renal insufficiency from their relatives. Subsequently, an artificial kidney apparatus was created.\n

\n The contribution of an outstanding Ukrainian surgeon to the world medicine is invaluable. Since the first transplant of one of the most important organs of a human, 82 years passed. During that period, thousands of people have been rescued from the inevitable death by kidney transplantation.\n

\n Two years later, in the fall of 1947, the first Soviet long-range missile already stood at the start. Soon there were new developments of long-range ballistic missiles.\n

\n On October 4, 1957, Korolyov\u2019s rocket was launched into the orbit of the first artificial satellite of the Earth. That was a real sensation. From that day the era of practical astronautics began. Originally, that flight was conducted with the animals onboard, but on April 12, 1961, there was successfully launched the Vostok-1 spacecraft with the astronaut Yuri Gagarin on board.\n

\n Having reached the second space velocity (11, 2 km /s), the automatic interplanetary station \"Luna-1\", derived from the third stage of the \"Vostok\" missile, passing in early January 1959 near the Moon that became the first artificial planet of the solar system. From this flight, the time of a manned space exploration began.\n

\n In September of the same year, the spaceship for the first time reached the surface of the Moon, and in a few weeks the \"Moon-3\" rounded the Moon, photographed its back and transmitted these images to the Earth through the radio channels.\n

\n On August 6, 1961, German Titov performed a second space flight on the Vostok-2 ship, which lasted one day. Being onboard Korolyov\u2019s spaceships, there performed their flights eleven Soviet cosmonauts, which is an incredible success.\n

\n The guy from Nikolaev, Ivan Seleznev, presented the project \u201cTechnoEyes\u201d at the international competition \"Intel International Science and Engineering Fair\". This is an ultrasonic glove for the spatial orientation of the visually impaired people, which should be very useful in terms of orientation in space.\n

\n Ivan Seleznev admitted that the goal of his project is to create a portable device for people with vision disabilities to help them be good at spatial orientation. We all know that this problem is of great importance, and there are very few things that can replace or at least somehow compensate this issue.\n

\n Ivan came up with this idea in school, where he started to develop the first prototypes. In fact, ultrasonoscope is a technical embodiment of the phenomenon that exists in nature. Why? It is precisely the way that bats orient in solid darkness. The invention operates on the basis of the orientation of the night bird: it sends ultrasonic waves into the space, and if there is some kind of obstacle, then the waves are reflected from it and come back. Some of them have a sound signal memory \u2013 the closer the barrier is, the louder sound becomes, and other work like a vibrator.\n

\n A special feature of its invention which has attracted the attention of scientists is the cheapness of the device and ease of usage. Ivan managed to make a device that costs no more than 200 UAH. And it is ten times less than the price of imported similar devices for the blind people. Thanks to Ivan Seleznev, thousands of blind people will be able to walk on the streets without additional help.\n

\n By the way, it is worth to admit that a unique \u0406\u0422\u0422-laboratory starts working in Kiev, where Ivan with his team will develop a more specialized device for people with vision problems. Thanks to the laboratory, Ivan is planning to develop a final prototype that will satisfy all the desires of blind people and release the device into mass production.\n

\n It is quite possible that the invention of Ivan Seleznev will leave uncomfortable sticks of blind people in the distant past. And dogs will become usual friends, but not the helpers for such people. After all, the dog must be trained and it requires much time. And this device is readily accessible, reliable and easy to operate.\n

\n And as you can see from the tactical and technical characteristics, the Spectator-M1 unmanned aerial system will allow the aircraft to rise to an altitude of 3 km. Its maximum speed will be up to 120 km / h, and the maximum flight route \u2212 up to 200 km, uninterrupted time in the air \u2212 3 hours.\n

\n According to the developers, the new upgraded version of the Spectator drone will allow demonstrating excellent security indicators from electronic warfare. Owing to the use of protected communication channels in its system, this airline complex will be able to enter the airspace protected by enemy electronic warfare systems, reconnaissance, transmit the image and target coordinates, and then return to the base.\n

\n History\n

\n The Development of \"Spectator-M\" began in 2015 with the participation of students of the Kiev Polytechnic Institute. In January 2016, the Ukroboronprom group of companies handed over to the military the first batch of unmanned systems. \"Spectator-M\" was adopted by the State Border Service of Ukraine. By the order of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine No. 644 of December 5, 2017, the Spectator-M unmanned aerial systems were authorized for use in the Armed Forces of Ukraine for a special period. \n A plaster cast can be considered to be one of the most fascinating inventions in medicine. The creation and rather wide use in the medical practice of casts for bone fractures are the most important achievements in surgery of the past century. And such a contribution was made by a talented reformer of a medicine \u2013 Mykola Pirogov.\n

\n How Did It Start?\n

\n Mykola Pirogov was the first person in the whole world who had created and applied a completely different method of the bandage, which was impregnated with liquid gypsum.\n

\n It is worth to admit that Pirogov did not come up with an idea of using gypsum immediately.\n

\n We need to note that it was a time of wars, so Mykola Pirogov went to the battlefield as a medical scientist. He worked twelve hours per day, forgetting even about food. In those days the brilliant scientist made remarkable discovery. For the treatment of bone fractures, he began to use a starch fixed bandage instead of lime bast (bark). The long pieces of canvas impregnated with starch were superimposed layer by layer on the broken limb. At the site of the fracture, a strong callus was formed.\n

\n In 1854, Pirogov came up with the idea of replacing the uncomfortable starch bandage with gypsum. Gypsum (sulfuric acid calcium) is a powder with a high hygroscopicity. When it is mixed with water, it freezes for 5-10 minutes. Earlier this plaster was used by builders, architects, sculptors. However, Pirogov used a gypsum bandage to fix and consolidate injured tissues in a medicine.\n

\n This invention can be related to traumatology, particularly to drugs which are designed to treat diseases associated with impaired functions of the cervical spine. The tape is made of an absorbent fibrous material with external capillary channels and a self-releasing pile of the sintepon type. The bandage provides straightening and \"unblocking\" of the cervical vertebrae, releasing the jammed nerves and restoring the human activity. Nowadays, plaster casts are used in many spheres of medicine, but traumatology remains to be its kingdom. However, plaster casts have become more multi-tasked: almost all fractures in various bones can be treated by this kind of bandage. Moreover, it is still the only possible way to recover broken bones.\n

\n According to contemporary researchers, the cast plaster has high therapeutic characteristics. Gypsum is a kind of protection of the wound from further contamination and infection. It also contributes to the destruction of microbes and allows air to penetrate to the wound. And the most important thing is that plaster cast provides the patient with the necessary rest for the broken bones. Therefore, we can say for sure that plaster cast is one of the most prominent inventions of the XIX century.\n

Their story of success is a real story of diligence and purposefulness.\n

\n iBlazr is a device that is devoted to creating splash while taking photos via phone. Vladislav was always fond of various start-ups and dreamed about launching own one. Moreover, he was interested in photography, especially mobile photography, and the only fact that did not satisfy Vladislav was lack of professional lighting. Therefore, he came up with an idea that would meet all requirements for taking professional photos via mobile phone.\n

\n Oleg, in his turn, understood that nobody from Ukraine made a mass production of such kind of device. Therefore, Oleg engaged in PR and marketing sphere in order to implement this idea.\n

\n As you can see, these two guys had an innovative idea and prototype of a compact splash, which was inserted just like headphones in phone or tablet.\n

\n Market Entrance\n

\n In order to conquer the world, Vladislav and Oleg decided to reach international markets. The platform Kickstarter was a great start for them. Such platform encompasses fundraising in support of product in exchange for top-priority access to it. Their case raised quite a lot of money so they could start production. \n Therefore, Khavkin went to India and established the production of the vaccine. He participated in the vaccination of 42 thousand people. The morbidity had decreased up to tens of times. Until now, improved vaccines have been using to fight this disease.\n

\n The contribution of Vladimir Khavkin to the fight against the plague was enormous as well. In 1896, this disease attacked the Indian city of Bombay. Khavkin managed to create an anti-plague vaccine in a short time. He experienced it on himself (just like in case of anti-cholera vaccine), and then helped people in India to conquer the plague.\n

\n Khavkin\u2019s anti-plague laboratory in Bombay became the largest research center on bacteriology and epidemiology in the region. Since 1925, it is called the Institute named after Khavkin.\n
