The main areas of the institute's research are: - determination of the laws governing the formation of the health of schoolchildren, environmental and hereditary factors that determine it, the development of a monitoring system; - determination of neurohormonal and immune mechanisms to ensure the development of the child's body and the formation of pubertal pathology; - development of new methods for the prevention, diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of diseases of the cardiovascular, digestive, endocrine systems, connective tissue, mental disorders in adolescence, the creation of expert systems; - medical and psychological rehabilitation of children and adolescents with the most severe somatic pathology and impaired mental development, prevention of disability; - scientific substantiation of the most effective forms of medical support for children and adolescents in Ukraine, including those from social risk groups.
