The Institute's specialists are developing technologies and new chemical products, modern high-performance equipment, and technological improvements. For sodium enterprises of Ukraine, work is being done to increase the efficiency of operation of salt mines and sludge tanks. The Institute is a leading scientific organization in priority areas of development in Ukraine of production of more than 60 chemical products, the most important of which are soda ash, baking soda (sodium bicarbonate), caustic soda, technical sodium sulfate, calcium chloride, including inhibited (technical, reactive) ; food and technical salt. NIOHIM is also engaged in the standardization of chemical products, measurements that ensure environmental protection and occupational safety of the main chemistry industry.
