Final Tests of Software Updates for the Boeing 737 MAX Are Done
120 test flights with a total duration of more than 203 flight hours were conducted by the pilots. The key task was to check a new model of the maneuvering system with which they had successfully coped.
It has to be admitted that Boeing Corporation completed the latest technical certification test of Boeing 737 MAX aircraft on Wednesday, April 17. This was emphasized with updated software before final certification. Such a statement was made by the director of the corporation Dennis Melenberg on Twitter.
"We completed the official technical flight test with the updated software. Our technical and design managers were on board the aircraft. It was the final test flight before the certification flight," said Dennis Melenberg.
As it was stated at the beginning of April, Boeing Corporation was planning to improve the safety of 737 MAX aircraft which was related to developing and releasing software updates to the system in order to improve the characteristics of maneuvering MCAS to prevent its unintended activation.
According to Boeing, software upgrades will add additional levels of protection and prevent MCAS activation due to erroneous data.
Deciphering the black boxes of the crashed Boeing 737 Max 8 in Indonesia and Ethiopia showed that before the crash the MCAS system was activated due to erroneous data from the angle of attack sensor, which sent both airliners in peak.
Such a system was created for the Boeing 737 MAX as a response to the installation of larger engines. As a result, the nose of the aircraft could lift up, which could lead to the disruption of the airliner after losing speed.
What was the key point? The system ejected the stabilizer during a dive as balancing to prevent the occurrence of dangerous situations with manual control while increasing the angle of attack above a certain value.
After the second crash of the Boeing 737 MAX 8, which occurred in Ethiopia, flights of airliners of this type and Boeing 737 MAX 9 were suspended around the world until the causes of accidents were established. Also, Boeing stopped the supply of airliners of this model.

The configuration of the model 737 MAX is significantly different from its predecessors and competitors.
According to a survey that was conducted among passengers who frequently fly by various airlines, the Boeing 737 MAX has the maximum level of attractiveness.
Due to the fact that the project had been developing for several years, the developers were able to arrange the interior in the most comfortable configuration for passengers. At this stage, the designers took into consideration all the advantages and disadvantages of previous Boeing models and fixed them in this configuration.
The main features of the cabin:
· smooth contours of walls;
· the most spacious articulated shelf for luggage;
· increased cabin space;
· increased legroom between the seats;
· upgraded lighting control button function;
· installed speakers in each row of passenger seats, which allow you to clearly hear all the announcements of flight attendants;
· modified air intake grilles to increase passenger safety.
The idea of expanding the 737 family and improving the performance of the Boeing came into being in 2006 when competition became incredibly large in the airliner market. The family has existed since 1967 and certainly was not considered young in the market. However, the appearance of the modification MAX changed this stereotype.
Work on the future configuration of the 737 MAX Corporation began in 2011. The aim of the project was to increase fuel efficiency by at least 16%. To achieve this goal, the engineers had to make many changes to the design of the liner. Fortunately, the colossal work was justified.
The configuration of the future aircraft was approved in 2013. The cost of such a program totaled 1.8 billion dollars. In this case, the creation of the aircraft itself costs another $10 billion.
The first tests took place in the same year, and the first public flight took place in 2016. The tests were carried out at a rather high rate. Therefore, the liner has already received permission to take off in March 2017. A couple of weeks later, the first take-off of an airliner with passengers on board took place.
